PREREQUISITE: Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and/or Lifeguard Training certificate must be shown to the instructor on the first day of class.
This course fulfills the State of California's codes and regulations regarding first aid standards for public safety personnel, including police, fire and lifeguards. This covers more advanced topics thank in Standard First Aid programs.
Topics covered include: precautions before providing care, legal issues, assessing a victim, medical emergencies such as poisoning, trauma emergencies such as shock and sever bleeding, special situations, such as childbirth and much more.
Certifications are awarded to participants who demonstrate competency in skills scenarios and achieve a passing grade of 80% or higher on a written exam.
Don't forget to bring a sac lunch with plenty of snacks and a notepad and pen for taking notes.
