Math concepts come alive as we explore the world of problem solving through number puzzles, logic problems, math games, and other challenging activities! Using mathematically based, real-world scenarios, we’ll use logic, organize data, look for patterns, and practice a variety of problem-solving strategies techniques. Through collaborative group work and independent activities, we’ll tackle application-based challenges that encourage creative and critical thinking. Whether you’re working at or above grade level, we’ll reinforce foundational concepts and acquire more advanced—and wrap our brains around solutions! An APS teacher since 2001, he spent the 2012-13 school year on loan to the Air Force Research Labs (AFRL) to teach a Department of Defense outreach program called Starbase. He is a National Board Certified Teacher, and he holds a TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the State of New Mexico. A graduate student at New Mexico Technology Institute, Mr. McCracken is focusing his studies on STEM education in schools. He holds a B.S. in elementary education (with an endorsement in earth and planetary sciences) from UNM.
