This camp is designed for singers at any level from beginners to those with some experience. Students will be taught the basics of vocal technique including voice placement and production, breathing, and phrasing. They will also receive guidance in finding their voice type, choosing audition material, and preparing for an audition. Each student will work on at least one solo song, and will receive ongoing coaching not only in proper singing technique, but in interpreting and performing the song. We will discuss how to make a song come alive by not just singing it, but by analyzing the lyrics and the phrasing in order to tell the story and convey the emotion of the song. Students will perform for each other in class. We will also work on a musical theatre piece that students will sing as an ensemble. Instructor Bio: LINDA WELLS is a private vocal teacher/coach, working primarily with children and teens.
