Description
To enroll in the Teen Adventure Camp Session(s) the SUMMER CAMP - APPLICATION (WILLS PARK, WILLS PARK: EXTREME, & TEEN ADVENTURE) must be completed prior to enrolling in the sessions for this camp. The Application must be completed on a separate transaction.TEEN CAMP IS LOCATED AT THE ALPHARETTA COMMUNITY CENTER: 175 ROSWELL ST. ALPHARETTA, GA 30009
Teen Camp is a fast-paced, action-packed specialty camp designed for the fun-seeking teen who enjoys the outdoors and the adventure of trying new things. Teen Camp will travel daily to explore an exciting destination. Such excursions and activities include hiking, tubing, swimming, bowling, museums, parks, movie theaters, and amusement parks. Payment must be made in full at the time of registration for all the weeks you would like to enroll your child.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration can be done online or in person. The registration packet has been replaced with the SUMMER CAMP - APPLICATION (WILLS PARK, EXTREME & TEEN ADVENTURE). To register for the sessions of TEEN Camp this application must be completed first. If you have questions please e-mail recreation@alpharetta.ga.us. You will not be able to register for the weekly sessions until the application activity is completely processed.
CAMP HOURS
Scheduled Activities 9:00 am - 4:00 pmPre-Camp 7:30 am - 9:00 am
Post Camp 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Registration includes both pre/post care.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
Age requirements have been established to safely facilitate age-appropriate activities. Campers will be placed into groups according to their age.
COMMUNICATION
On-going communication between staff, parents, and campers is critical to your child achieving a successful and fun experience at camp. If at any time you need to share information, concerns, or compliments, we encourage you to speak with a staff member. To contact your child during camp hours, please call (678) 297-6100.
LUNCH
Campers are required to bring a lunch and beverage each day. Refrigeration and microwave facilities are not available to campers.
SIGN IN/SIGN OUT PROCEDURES
For the safety of each child, all campers must be checked in and checked out each day. Campers may only be picked up and signed out by an authorized person (indicated at time of registration). Campers may not check themselves in or out. Please be ready to show a photo I.D. to a staff member.
CAMP ATTIRE & PERSONAL ITEMS
All campers should wear comfortable clothing each day. Campers should wear athletic shoes (no flip-flops). Please no cell phones. Campers are discouraged from bringing personal items such as electronics, jewelry or items of value. Campers are responsible for their personal possessions. The City of Alpharetta Recreation Parks & Cultural Services Department is not responsible for loss or damage to personal items brought to camp.
COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRT
All campers will receive one commemorative camp t-shirt for the summer (not required to be worn each day). Campers are required to wear the camp t-shirt when the camp goes on field trips.
SUN PROTECTION
Many camp activities are outdoors, your child is at risk for sunburn. Campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen. We recommend campers use sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30.
MEDICATION
If your child needs medicine while at camp, you will need to fill out an Authorization to Give Medication at Camp Form or an Over-the-Counter Medication Permission Form.
ILLNESSES
For the protection of all campers and staff, any child believed to have an infectious illness should not attend camp. If a staff member becomes aware that child is sick, the parent or guardian will be called to pick up the child.
