About This Activity

e² Young Engineers Camp At the e² Young Engineers Camp your child will explore various principles of STEM through learner engagement sessions followed by hands on building of the lesson. The camp program introduces elementary school children (ages 6-12) to the basic principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). By integrating basic arithmetic learned in school with an intuitive active learning process, children grasp a better understanding of the fundamentals of physics and engineering concepts. July 25th Program ~ Weighing Scale & LEGO Fan Weighing Scale Program Topics: Moment principle, explanation about the weighting-scale and the weighing principle, uses of the weighing-scale in ancient times, weight. LEGO Fan Program Topics: Speed increasing transmission, Gear ratio, Air flow July 26th Program ~ Galloping Horse & Elastic Vehicle Galloping Horse Program Topics: Mechanical coordination, converting from a circular motion to a linear one Elastic Vehicle Program Topics: Energy, elastic energy, potential energy, & kinetic energy July 27th Program ~ Ferris Wheel & Pantograph Ferris Wheel Program Topics: Speed reducing transmission Pantograph Program Topics: Geometry, Proportion, & Art July 28th Program ~ Mechanical Arm & Conveyor Belt Mechanical Arm Program Topics: Robotics, Androids, Prosthesis (artificial limbs) Conveyor Belt Program Topics: Transmission, Drive Pulley, Driven Pulley, & Belt transmission July 29th Program ~ Car with Tachometer & Sailboat Car with Tachometer Program Topics: Tachometer, differences in propelling a vehicle using large wheels compared to small wheels, measuring revolutions per minute (RPM) Sailboat Program Topics: Archimedes Law – floatation principle, specific weight
