This basketball program is a team activity designed for boys currently in Fifth grade. (Although girls have their own teams for this grade, they may choose to participate in a boy's league.) The emphasis of this program is on participation and enjoyment. EVERYONE GETS TO PLAY! There are no "cuts" or "try-outs". Participants are assigned to teams based on their grade and public school attendance area. (Charter/Parochial/Non District/Private school teams may be formed provided they meet the grade requirements, minimum number of players and registration deadline.) Rosters are typically limited to 10 players per team. The season is scheduled to begin Saturday, January 21, 2017 and runs for eight to ten weeks. Games are held on Saturdays and will be scheduled between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm depending on the league. Each team is assigned one practice a week. Practices are held at local elementary school gyms between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm Monday - Friday. Games could also be scheduled for Sundays from schedule from 12pm to 8pm. If you have any special requests that you would like Rec & Ed staff to consider, e.g. specific coach, specific teammate, you must indicate your request in the "special request" section of the registration form at the time your initial registration is submitted. For additional information regarding the basketball season timeline, equipment specifications, refund policy and how to volunteer to be a Rec & Ed youth basketball coach, consult the 2017 Winter Youth Basketball Brochure or contact Elyse at firstname.lastname@example.org. Standard Registration is available until 5:00pm on November 21, 2016. After this time an additional $20.00 fee will be added to your registration. Registrations received after November 21, will receive a lower placement priority. On-line registration is only available to registrants who have a current on-line account and will be paying by credit card or existing credit on account. On-line registration cannot accept payment by gift certificates, scholarships or any other form of discounts.
