Grades: 2nd-3rd. Come experience a fun, hands-on introduction to fiber arts! Begin by learning chains to make a bracelet or necklace. Then practice single crochet swatches to build skills and tension control. Finally, use your new skills to create a simple mini pouch. Get crafty with crochet! All materials provided. Instructor: Katherine Williams. 6 classes.
Focus of each week:
Week 1: Learn slip knot and chain. Practice making long chains, turn them into bracelets or necklaces.
Weeks 2-3: Skill building with single crochet. Practice small swatches, focus on even tension and neat edges.
Weeks 4-5: Continue single crochet practice with a simple pouch (rectangle folded and sewn with yarn tie).
Week 6: Add finishing touches and share projects.
