Take the Stage - Level 2
Sep 06 - Dec 14
South Suburban Church
From Sep 07, 2016 to Dec 14, 2016
DETAILSYou want the stage? You take the stage! This class will focus on two important aspects of Theater - auditions and improvisation. First you will learn how to take the stage when you audition so you can impress the director and get the part. This class will teach you everything you need to know about auditions: different types, what to expect, cold readings, and how to prepare. We will have several “mock auditions” in class to give you plenty of practice for the real thing. Next, you will take the stage with improvisation. We will study the art of improv by learning and practicing a wide variety of improv games. Be creative, think on you feet, act quickly, and have lots of fun! Then, you will take the stage and apply what you’ve learned by having a real Improv performance at 11 am on Saturday, Dec 3rd and a mini performance on Dec 7 at 12pm during the TCHA lunch break. Invite your family and friends to join in the fun! Tutor: Julie Nelson Length: One semester/14 weeks, class extended one week to end on Wednesday, Dec 14th Level: 8th – 12th grade Prerequisite: Theater – Level 1, or Characterizations - with Julie Nelson Performance: Students must be available for a live Improv performance on Saturday Dec. 3rd.
