Advanced Beginner I: are very comfortable in the water and able to swim 20 feet without help on their front, side, and back. They have the endurance to swim 25 yards (generally one length of the lap pool) wearing a float belt. They have a clear understanding of personal safety, are able to tread water for 20 - 30 seconds and can perform the combined skill of jumping in and swimming 15 feet, roll onto back and float for 10 seconds and return to the side withour assistance. They are comfortable submerging under the water.
