Learning to look is the theme of the Pony Class, where we will integrate field trips with fine arts and great children's literature to help children increase their powers of observation. After a trip to the blueberry farm to pick berries, we will taste the berries, use berries to make dye for a fabric project, and enjoy the story of "Blueberries for Sal." Throughout the year, we will be explore our local environment, studying birds and learning about migrations, nests, habitats, and behaviors. These experiences will support projects that will include mixed media and watercolor art. Field trips will include classes at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture and the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, as well as visits to plays and ballet productions. In the Pony class, the world is our campus. All children must be 4 by August 29, 2016.
