GUPPY: Advanced Beginner 1
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: To learn different arm strokes and leg kicks; how to breathe while swimming; build endurance and strength; explore water polo and synchronized swimming skills. Learn about water, boating and diving safety.
REQUIRED SKILLS TO PARTICIPATE: Can paddle on the front, side and back without floatation or assistance for 20 feet (approximately the width of 3 lap lanes). Has the endurance to paddle on the front side and back for 25 yards (the length of the lap pool) wearing a float belt. Is comfortable putting their face in the water and submerging. Can jump out away from the side, turn and return without assistance.
