About This Activity

Kids learn to be Coders Kids will learn fundamental computer programming concepts and best practices while learning to code interactive computer programs, animations and games based upon the TechSmartKids Coders methodology. C101 is the first in a series of 3 Intro to Coding courses (C101, C102 and C103) that are designed to introduce students to computer science and the coding. C101 follows a progressive computer science curriculum that teaches kids: how to CODE using Scratch, an event-driven visual drag & drop programming language developed by MIT Media Lab best practices in agile product development Coding concepts learned in this class include: Commands Sequences Loops Events Parallelism Conditionals Operators User Interface Kids learn to be Product Thinkers As Product Thinkers kids learn how to analyze programs and products and break them down into features and functionality that they can code and manage. Product Thinking concepts learned in this class include: What is a product? Features/Functionality Product Requirements User Interface Prioritizing Features Kanban- Product Management
