About This Activity
Description
The basis of Y swim lessons is water safety skills. Swimmers progress from assisted skills to independent swimming on front and back. Self-rescue skills – asking permission, swim-float-swim, back float, wall grab, and treading – are emphasized at each lesson. Age-appropriate games, drills, and activities encourage practice which builds stamina and develops proficiency.
Swimmers who have mastered all skills in the Swim Basics program can register for Swim Stroke programming with the recommendation of their instructor or aquatics director.
No class will be held during the week of August 26th through September 1st for our Enhancement Week.
All program withdraw or transfer requests must be received in writing before the 20th of the month prior to the program start date. After the 20th of the month, all credit and transfer requests are at the discretion of the program director.
