About This Activity

Bowhunting is a Montana tradition that many children in Big Sky have yet to experience. This camp is an introduction to archery using a compound bow, as well as, to wilderness navigation, habitat, and wildlife. Campers will learn to use acompass, read maps, look for signs of wildlife, and determine animal habitats. Each day they will learn about archery equipment, safety, hunting ethics, and of course, how to us a compound bow. The week ends with an an archery shoot at the Jack Creek Preserve’s 3D archery range and an open house at the Outdoor Education Center. Transportation is included but parents are encouraged to pick up and enjoy the open house. Equipment is provided. Returning campers are welcome, there is opportunity to build on skills. Presented by the Jack Creek Preserve Foundation (www.jackcreekpreserve.org)
