(DROP-OFF Program): Hill House is excited to welcome Code Wiz to the Firehouse for an introductory robotics program!
An exciting curriculum designed for students aged 6 to 11, incorporating the CODES model to teach the basics of robotics. This hands-on course utilizes the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Set and the Scratch visual programming interface to explore the fundamentals of robotics. Students will delve into practical robotics projects involving touch sensors, motors, ultrasonic sensors, color sensors, light sensors, movement, gears, tires, and threads. Each session sets evaluation standards to assess students' comprehension, problem-solving skills, coding proficiency, and creativity. By providing constructive feedback, students are inspired to refine their projects, celebrate their accomplishments, and continue their exploration and innovation in the captivating world of robotics.
Concepts students will learn: A solid understanding of the fundamentals of robotics, coding skills using Scratch visual programming and LEGO Education SPIKE App v.3.2.4., practice robotics concepts including movement, gears, tires, and threads, create successful projects, problem-solving abilities through troubleshooting and refining projects for optimal performance, coding techniques to create responsive and interactive robots, designing unique and engaging robotics projects, fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and logical thinking abilities
Please read the notes at the bottom of this page carefully, and email jkelly@hillhouseboston.org if you have any questions before the season starts, or if you register less than a week before the program begins.
