The Camp Waubanong Leadership Camp offers full one week sessions Sunday to Sunday for boys and girls 14-16 who are looking to develop leadership skills. This program challenges teens to step out of their comfort zone, meet new people, and discover their own ability to lead and inspire themselves and others. Leadership Campers still participate in many of the camp activities they have grown up with, including free swim and choice time. However, they also take on some responsibilities, like coordinating an evening of games and entertainment for younger campers, and planning, cooking, and serving dinner one night a week. Campers generally stay in Adirondack-style cabins with their counselor at night. This summer, we will again feature the Waubanong Challenge! Leadership Campers will spend time learning intensive wilderness and survival skills that they will use to plan and implement a weekend boating and camping trip on the CT River. Campers will plan as a team, work within a tight budget, and quickly learn the importance of paying attention to the details! While our leadership counselors will act as facilitators for the group, the campers will ultimately be responsible for their meals, shelter, and tracking on the trip!
