Edges are the foundation of figure skating. This class focuses on control and power gained through the use of skate edges, along with the basics of skating. Skaters learn how to maneuver with grace and ease as they improve in this area of their skating. It is essential for skaters to spend time focusing on edge work to improve all aspects of their skating.
The purpose of this class is to prepare skaters for Moves in the Field tests, improve connecting steps, power, quickness, extension, and control. If you do not consider yourself an intermediate and above skater, we highly recommend taking a concurrent Adult/Teen Ice Skating Lesson (also offered on Tuesday evenings). These lessons are also offered on Tuesdays between 6:30-7:00pm.
Class meets Tuesdays, November 1 - December 13 from 6:30-7:00pm.
