About This Activity

Description

Climbing Level 3

Ages 8 - 14 This is the pinnacle of our afterschool youth climbing development programs! Participants focus on climbing knowledge, strength and technique development under our experienced and dedicated coaching staff. Admittance into Level 3 is based on behavior, climbing ability, safety skills and evaluation by a climbing coach.
Minimum qualifications and expectations for program participants: Positive attitude! Interest in learning more about climbing. Can put on own harness. Can tie a figure 8 follow through knot. Can apply risk management techniques.
If interested in signing up for Level 3, or you have questions about the qualifications and expectations, please begin by contacting your current climbing coach or the Outdoor Programs Coordinator, Jane Horton at JaneH@townofbreckenridge.com or 970-547-4313.
Transportation is provided from Upper Blue and Breckenridge Elementary. Students not attending Breckenridge schools are encouraged to participate but need to provide their own transportation.
Financial assistance may be available through the Bentley Bedker Scholarship. Applications for the Bedker Scholarship are located at the Front Desk of the Breckenridge Recreation Center. Scholarship money may be applied to the climbing program and potentially personal climbing equipment. Please contact the Outdoor Programs Coordinator Jane Horton for more information at 970-547-4313.
