After school fly fishing will be a fun and educational introduction to fly fishing for kids between the ages of 8 and 14 years old. We will encourage participants to enhance their knowledge regarding how river ecosystems work and how to “read” water to catch fish.
Gear Provided by Staff: rod & real, flies, leaders, indicators, net
Necessary Gear: RAIN JACKET! Sunglasses, quick dry clothing, extra layers, snacks, and water.
Gear not required but encouraged: waterproof footwear, waders, fly rod and reel.
Students not attending Breckenridge schools are encouraged to participate but need to provide their own transportation.
***Parents: Large uncontained fly rods and reels are not allowed on the school bus. You must make other arrangements to drop off your child's equipment in the Multipurpose Room of the Breckenridge Recreation Center.***
