One of our most popular programs is back! Afterschool Ice Skating brings elementary school students to the Stephen C. West Ice Arena for 6 weeks of fun lessons right after school. Students are on the ice from 4:45-5:15pm. The goal of this program is to introduce new students to ice skating and to improve skills of returning students.
Kids grades K-5 are divided into small groups based on their current skating skills - all abilities are welcome. Within their skill level, coaches guide students to gain confidence, proficiency and to have FUN! Lesson includes transportation within Breckenridge, skate rental and helmet (students are welcome to bring their own skates and ski helmet if desired). Figure skates or hockey skates? It's your choice!
Students are expected to dress warm with a jacket and gloves. Snow pants are recommended, and yes...please make sure children are wearing SOCKS! Enrollment is session-based only - no drop-ins allowed. No class on October 28 and November 25.
Transportation is provided from Upper Blue and Breckenridge Elementary. Students not attending Breckenridge schools are encouraged to participate but need to provide their own transportation.
Class meets 6 weeks: Fridays, October 21 - December 9.
NEW this fall!!! The Stephen C. West Ice Arena will utilize the United States Figure Skating Basic Skills Program! Please see below to learn about skills levels.
