For youth in grades 6 through 8, cross-country races typically range from 1 to 2 miles in length. The races are held on courses run through parks, forests, and other natural areas. The terrain can be challenging, with hills, mud, and other obstacles.
To participate in cross country, you will need a good pair of running shoes.
