Only open to students who are currently enrolled in Fall 2015 session The Africans in Diaspora Club will expose students to a variety of cultures while also looking at the many ways that Africa and its people have influenced the broader world. Students will have the opportunity to read, and critically discuss, Margy Burns Knight’s book, “Africa Is Not A Country,” with the intent of dismantling stereotypes and developing an appreciation for Africa’s diverse people, histories, colors, languages and foods. Additionally, students will be actively engaged in the process of learning, playing, dancing, eating and organizing. There is a strong possibility that there will be an international trip (during Spring Break 2016) connected to this club. Club time will be used to prepare for the trip.
