About This Activity

Full Day Programming: MLK Jr. Day Spend the day exploring the world of jewelry and metalsmithing. Students will gain hands-on experience working with copper and brass as they learn foundational techniques such as soldering, piercing, sawing, texturing, and surface embellishment. Through guided demonstrations and individual creativity, participants will design and create their own wearable pieces — such as pendants, earrings, or charms — while discovering how artists transform raw metal into personal and expressive art. This workshop is perfect for teens interested in fashion, design, or craft, and provides a strong introduction to jewelry studio tools and safety.
