This class offers an in-depth exploration of animation! Animation is the bridge between art and science, body, reason and emotion. Animation is rich in techniques that include all kinds of artistic expression: photography, illustration, painting, comics, sculpture, drawing, music, theater, and acting. Students will learn how to make stop-motion animation using everyday objects to create their characters and backdrops. In addition to learning the technology, students will go over story arcs, character development, script writing and create their own soundscape. They will learn about the history of animation, physical forces, optical illusion, precursors of cinematography and stop motion film in a dynamic and interactive environment.
