Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, along with traditional hip hop styles such as popping, locking, and grooving. This class will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Basic hip-hop moves are taught through creative movement and play, the use of props, and obstacle courses around the dance room. This is a great class for learning rhythm, following directions, taking turns, developing gross motor skills, and improving balance, coordination, self-expression, and body awareness. Attire: Students should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in, such as leggings, sweatpants, shorts, ect. Dancewear is not required. We ask that students wear closed-toed, secure shoes/ tennis shoes (no flipflops or Crocs). We do not allow students to dance barefoot.
