This comprehensive camp teaches teens techniques for "drawing what you see from life." Teens gain confidence in their own drawing abilities and begin to use drawing in their daily life. We will not only guide students to develop strong drawing skills, but also enhance their everyday problem-solving skills and other right brain functions. Research has shown that students who study the arts, in general, develop 10 important skills for success in everyday life such as creativity, confidence, problem-solving skills, perseverance, focus, non-verbal communication, resiliency, collaboration skills, dedication and accountability (Phillips, 2010). All projects are black and white sketches. No drawing experience is necessary. This camp class is designed for teens (in junior and senior high school) who have no prior drawing instruction, as well as those who enjoy drawing and wish to improve ability to draw from real life. All students receive their own supply kit to use during the camp and take home afterward.
