Drawing Fundamentals 1 is for students who are beginning their artistic journey; no previous experience required. It is also suitable for those students who love to draw with past instruction and wish to improve their drawing technique using fundamental principles of drawing. Using Aliki's Seven-Step system, students build skills and confidence as they gain an understanding of drawing fundamentals (such as line and contour, positive shape and negative space, proportion, shading, texture) while exploring a wide variety of media (e.g., crayon, oil and chalk pastel, watercolour pencil, tempra paint, charcoal, ink, graphite.) Students create drawings in a variety of styles from realistic to abstract. The progression of lessons, guide students to developing independent drawing skills while nurturing personal expression and creativity. Class projects are richly balanced with inspirations gathered from a wide range of sources. There are 32 classes in total. There are no classes on Holiday Mondays.
