A 3-day Summer Dance Sampler
Led by Joanna Piekarz
August 14-16, 2025
Thursday, Friday, Saturday
10:00 AM to 11:00AM
This 3-day summer sampler is ideal for students new to the NEIU Community Dance Program and looking to enroll in a session of fall dance classes.
Participants will explore movement skills necessary for later dance training: strength, flexibility, coordination and balance. The class introduces basic ballet barre work and use of turn out. Basic movement vocabulary used in basic modern, jazz and ballet techniques is utilized. This class emphasizes the coordination of movements to a specific rhythm and uses creative activities to encourage students to solve problems through movement.
1. Registration is required of all participants and must include current information, as well as a signed agreement to all terms and conditions for participation, release and waiver.

3. Parents are not allowed in the studio to observe class unless invited by the instructor. Only children enrolled in classes will be allowed in the studio. Hair must be secured back from the face. Please consult the instructor or program coordinator with questions about the required attire for a particular class.
