DiMension is a unique ensemble for young men with changing or changed voices, including those in late elementary, middle, and into high school. This ensemble offers many performance opportunities with Neighborhood Choirs, the Voice of Chicago and independently. Though they typically rehearse once a week on Mondays, rehearsals may be added throughout the semester on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays based upon performance needs. Singers learn to understand their own voices through male ensemble singing, solo opportunities, sight reading, and music theory. Training and repertoire are specifically designed to guide young men through the vocal transition. Currently with 20 singers, they each receive a significant amount of individual attention while learning to sing a diverse repertoire with musicality, movement and expression. In 2008 DiMension toured the University of Illinois, and performed with the Concert Choir at Millennium Park's Pritzker Pavilion. Social opportunities such as the annual Rockathon and attending the Broadway in Chicago play Wicked help to develop a sense of camaraderie. Annual performances include the Target Community Concert Series, Chicago Children’s Choir Men’s Festival among others. In 2013, the ensemble went on tour to Kalamazoo, Michigan and performed at the Annual Gold Company Vocal Jazz Invitational.
