The Secondary School Admission Test, or SSAT, is an admission test taken by 6th graders. Though it is just one piece of the application process, it is important to prepare for the test for the following reasons: Reduce test-taking stress -Learn strategies to show secondary schools academic ability without being distracted by tricks and guessing penalizations -Develop vocabulary and word sense using Latin and Greek roots -Gain test-taking confidence that will assist in future testing (PSAT, SAT, ACT) This course will introduce strategies for each of the test's four sections. Students will work their way through the sections, learning question types, practicing elimination strategies, and building content skills. The goal of the course is not only to increase comfort and confidence with the SSAT but also to develop skills that translate to academic success and analytic thinking in the classroom. Parents will receive feedback at the end of the course. Cost: $250 includes all materials. The Wilson Board of Trustees has established The Wilson School Family Fund, a special resource to ensure that all families have the financial resources to participate in the full Wilson experience.
