South Fulton Arts Center continues its partnership with Ballethnic Academy of Dance. This dance organization is comprised of two components, Ballethnic Dance Company and Ballethnic Academy of Dance. Ballethnic Dance Company is a classically trained, culturally diverse ballet company that blends traditional ballet with the artistic influences of other ethnic cultures. As part of this partnership, Ballethnic instructors are now teaching South Fulton Arts Center Ballet Program: Ballet I (5-6), Ballet II (7-9) & Ballet III (10-14).
This class is for 7-9 year old. Students will work on body alignment and posture as well as development of the feet and turnout. The class instructs fundamental skills and concepts of dance movement and Ballet technique. Students learn flexibility, body awareness and musicality through ballet practices.
For continuity and in preparation for the Spring Arts Showcase May 2016, when enrolling in dance classes all students should enroll in the same class each session (Fall, Winter and Spring) unless otherwise directed by instructor.
Dance Attire Requirement:
Girls: Black short sleeved leotard, flesh colored transition tights, and ballet shoes (sprayed flesh tone, fashion brown or tan) only. Hair away from the face. No decorative hair ornaments. Long hair must be secured back for class.
Boys: Solid white short sleeved t-shirt, solid black athletic shorts, white socks and black ballet shoes.
To ensure public safety for students, children under the age of 13 years old should not be dropped off and left unattended at the arts center. Children should be supervised by a caregiver at least 14 years old or older during class session.
