Description

This activity has been cancelled.

Learn to Skate for ages 3 to 6.

Intro to Skating is a four week session of lessons that allows students who may not be sure if their interested in a full ten week program to learn some of the basics. Students learn how to sit and stand up with skates off ice and on ice, march in place and march forward.

Welcome to Sertich Ice Center's Fall Learn to Skate program! The objectives of the program are:

To provide a fun and safe skating experience for the beginner as well as the more advanced skater

To teach correct technique of the basic elements

To promote health and physical fitness

Lesson/Activity Day: Saturday

Lesson/Activity Dates: October 22, 29 November 5, 12.

Please plan to arrive at Sertich at least ten-minutes before your first lesson. This will allow sufficient time to select and lace your skates. Skate boots should provide a snug fit. Your foot should not move around inside the boot. Feet will feel best in lightweight socks or tights. Clothing such as sweats or warm-ups are ideal. Remember to bring gloves. Helmets are encouraged. Please contact Pam: (719) 385-6009 or pingrassia@springsgov.com with any questions. Your instructor will meet you at rink level under the activity level banner for which you are registered when lessons begin. Refer to the First Day of Skating hand-out for important, additional lesson information.

In case of inclement weather, please check the city?s website at coloradosprings.gov for any activity delays, cancellations or facility closures.

If you need an accommodation to participate, please contact Pam: (719) 385-6009 or pingrassia@springsgov.com.

To help reduce accidents and injuries, players must obey safety rules, report all physical problems, follow the proper conditioning program and inspect their own equipment.
