School Aged Swimming Lessons
Class for school aged children 6 to 17 years of age Learn to Swim classes.
The American Red Cross learn-to-swim program offers six progressive levels of instruction. Starting with an introduction to water skills and advancing to swimming and skill proficiency.
Level 1 - Introduction to Water Skills (Red)
Level 2 - Fundamental Aquatic Skills (Orange)
Level 3 - Stroke Development (Yellow)
Level 4 - Stroke Improvement (Green)
Level 5 - Stroke Refinement (Blue)
Level 6 - Swimming & Skill Proficiency (Personal Water Safety, Fundamentals of Diving, Fitness Swimmer) (Violet)
People can download the Red Cross Swim app for free in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store for Android or Amazon Kindle Store by searching for American Red Cross or by going toredcross.org/mobileapps or text 'SWIM' to 90999 for a link to it. The Swim App is not a substitute for learning how to swim. Additional water safety tips are available atredcross.org/watersafety.
The Swim App is the latest in a series of apps by the Red Cross which includes apps for First Aid, Pet First Aid, Team Red Cross, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and wildfires. Red Cross apps have been downloaded on nearly 4.4 million mobile devices.
PLAY sponsorship is available to help cover $20 in fees for those that can demonstrate need by producing:
Copy of your Medicaid/Caresource/Molina health card OR
Copy of your ADC/OWF card
PLAY can only be used for one program per seasonal session -- at All Recreation Centers. Registrants wishing to use PLAY must come to the Aquatics Center during normal business hours, 9am to 5pm, in order to complete registration.
