We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, October 22, 2016.
New to trail running, or running in general? Heart of the Valley Runners is offering this class to guide you in the selection of proper running attire and gear, as well as how to meet your basic nutrition and hydration needs while running trails in McDonald-Dunn Forest, OSU Research Forest and Bald Hill Natural area. By the end of the class you should be able to complete a 5-to-6 mile trail run at a pace that is correct for you, in addition to being able to effectively establish and maintain personalized training goals. Most weeks we'll meet at a trail head but the first week we'll start at Walnut Community Room just south of Martin Luther King Park off Walnut Blvd. For those 12-14 if you want to register with a participating adult please call 541-766-6918.
NOTE the average, expected minimum pace in this class is a 13-14 minute mile. This is faster than a walking pace most of the time, therefore the class is NOT designed for hikers or walkers who don't want to run.
Before starting a new exercise routine please check with your doctor.
Meet locations will vary. First week will be at Walnut Community Room, 4950 NW Fair Oaks Dr.
