We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Friday, November 18, 2016.
Nature?s grandest spectacle, a total eclipse of the sun, comes to Corvallis in 2017. More than 300 million Americans live within a 2-day drive from the path of totality, a narrow ribbon less than 70 miles wide spanning the U.S. from coast-to-coast for more than 2,500 miles. Oregonians within its path will witness up to 2 minutes of daytime darkness as the moon covers the sun and reveals its unearthly corona of incandescent hydrogen gas. Learn how to best experience this once-in-a-lifetime event safely, dispel myths and superstitions associated with it and grasp the underlying science as taught by local amateur astronomers.
