Ages 8-12
In this class, the kids will learn how pollution affects ocean animals and habitats through videos, visuals, and group discussion. They’ll explore topics like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, coral bleaching, and rising sea levels. Students will take part in a fun Ocean Cleanup Relay to sort trash and recyclables, create marine animal art to show the effects of pollution, and write a personal pledge to help protect the ocean.
This program is run by a Girl Scout working on their Gold Award, guided by their Troop Leader or other adult supervisor.
