For two weeks, your child will be immersed in the world of clay. Campers will learn everything from prehistoric clay working methods, to the modern work of artistic ceramics, and everything in between. The first week is devoted to developing skills using the pottery wheel, sculpting by hand, as well as learning technical aspects of clay including where it comes from, how it’s used, how it’s recycled and turned into a finished piece. During the second week, campers will explore different glazing and firing processes including everything that goes into building, loading and firing a traditional Japanese Raku kiln. Safety precautions will be set in place so campers can have a blazingly amazing time! *This is a 9 day camp. Artists' Exchange is closed Monday in observance of Independence Day.
