About This Activity
"""Novice - Beyond Basics"" class is designed to teach the official rules and strategies of the game (how to checkmate, how to win the game) to those who have a basic knowledge of chess. Children under 8 years old may join the class ONLY if they know how to identify each piece and how each piece moves. All students who have not yet participated in the OCYL program should attend the NOVICE level first and will move to the next levels based upon instructor assessment. OCYL Chess classes are taught by Bob Salvas and Eduardo Paguaga, members of the United States Chess Federation, official USCF Tournament Directors, and chess instructors for over 20 years each!"
