The Counselor in Training, or CIT program, is taught by experienced teachers who have a breadth of knowledge in the realm of volunteerism, child development, and classroom management. As a CIT, you will have the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a counselor through hands-on experience and practice opportunities. You will spend the morning with other CITs learning the skills necessary to allow you to serve as a volunteer, which you will then experience in the afternoon segment of our Summer at Hockaday camps and classes. Through this new program, you are certain to enhance citizenship and leadership skills; delve into volunteerism, all while having fun, enhancing teamwork, and gaining real world experience! After completing this training, you will have the opportunity to continue the volunteer portion of the program for the remainder of the Summer at Hockaday sessions.
