This camp will teach you the basics of trial advocacy: examining and cross-examining witnesses; making opening and closing arguments; and understanding some basic evidence rules. During the week, campers will prepare an actual criminal case for a fun pretend, or “mock” trial on Friday, with some students acting as lawyers for the prosecution and defense, and other students acting as witnesses for each side. By the end of camp, you will have a good understanding of our criminal justice system and what it’s like to be a trial lawyer. You will also improve your public speaking skills, and perhaps do a bit of improvisational acting as well! Lunch is included in the tuition. Please do not send a lunch to camp.
