Join the St. Charles County Parks Department this Halloween season to experience a night of superstition under the stars at the Historic Daniel Boone Home at Lindenwood Park! Step back in time to listen to tales and stories of the 1800s brought to life as you walk through lantern-lit paths at the Spirits of the Past event. Learn why people were so superstitious and always cautious, especially at night! Some vignettes include hearing murder ballads, experiencing the Legend of Sleepy Hollow by renowned story teller, Anne Williams, and visiting Ms. Hattie, the conjure woman from New Orleans. This family friendly event is a great alternative to traditional Halloween celebrations.
Tickets are $6.00 per person if you pre-register and $10.00 at the door. Children age 4 and under are free and do not need to register. Limited tickets are available. Reservations are highly recommended. There are three entrance sessions available. Please select the time slot you prefer. You may enter the event anytime during time slot, though you are welcome to stay at the event as long as you wish.
Please bring a copy of your receipt or your photo ID to speed up the check in process. If you are bringing a group, please gather together before entering the registration area. Though there will be warming stations, remember to dress for the weather. Walking will be on dark candlelit gravel and grass paths, so good walking shoes are encouraged. Though guests will walk at their own pace after they enter the event, expect short waits outside the various vignettes. Each station will repeat every 8-10 minutes. No Flash photography is allowed.
