Teacher: Steve Schaffner Students will be engaged at the beginning of the project with our artist exemplar, Henri Rousseau, and also throughout the course of the week with relevant rain forest videos. Students will focus on a snapshot of Amazon wildlife and habitat. We will gain an appreciation for the fragility of animal habitat with projects such as representational collage, drawing, soft sculpture, and other 3D building projects as we tinker with cardboard and other found objects. Balance, layering, and background and foreground as they exist in a work of art will also be explored. Discussion topics will include the issue of deforestation and the destruction of habitat. We close online registration 24 hours prior to camp start. If you want to register at that time, please call 720-299-1806 OR 303-349-0961.
