The winter basketball program is a fun, instructional program introducing the fundamentals of the sport in a non-competitive atmosphere. Games occur on Saturday's beginning in January at various school gymnasiums throughout the town of Derry. Week day practices are held once a week for participants in grades 3 through 8 beginning in Mid- December ONLY. Practicing team participants must indicate their preferred practice evening at time of registration.

Please carefully select your child's shirt size on the attached registration form.
Sizes cannot be changed or accommodated once registration has closed.
Participants cannot participate in the Recreation program if they are on a travel or school team. The only exception is for individuals in grades 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. Please let us know if your child is trying out for and/or makes any competitive team.
Birth certificates are required for all 5 year old participants at time of registration.
Please be sure to read over all of the following information before registering your child for the program:
Participants for this division must be in at least 1st grade and may not be older than a senior in high school during the 2016-2017 school year.
Participants will be placed in their respective divisions based on their grade during the 2016-2017 school year.
For younger participants, we do offer a 4/5 year old through Kindergarten PeeWee Basketball Program.
The Recreation office is unable to accept any incomplete registration forms. All incomplete registrations will be returned to the address provided on the registration form within one business day after being received.
Payment must be submitted at time of registration.
Volunteer coaches are a vital part of this program. Please consider coaching your child?s team. Without volunteer coaches, the program cannot take place.
It is important to note that the High School division has a player coach format and consists of 90 minute games on Saturdays. Interested player coaches must inform a Recreation employee at time of registration.
No more than four (4) requests may be accommodated per coach/team/player if feasible. Requests will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis and will be based on the date the registration form and fee is received and processed.
Although the Department does its best to accommodate, no requests are ever guaranteed. Practice night preference will be selected over other requests unless otherwise written clearly on the registration form.
Non-residents may register for this program, however all non-resident registrations will be placed in a Hold File until the last day of the registration period. At that point, non-residents will be placed on teams according to availability.

Registrations are accepted beginning Monday, October 3rd and ending Thursday, November 10th. Registrations can be mailed or brought to the Recreation Office located at 31 West Broadway, Derry, NH 03038.
Derry Residents can choose to register online for grades 1st-12thfor an additional processing fee.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am ? 4:30 pm.
