9 sessions x 90 minutes Monday - Dec 1, 8, 15 | Jan 12, 26 | Feb 2, 9, 23 | March 2 Code multi-level mini-games every class—maze racers, platformers, pet simulators—then level up with new coding ideas daily. You’ll use Lando’s Scratch-based app on an iPad, so teachers guide just-right quests—no one gets stuck or bored. Playtest with friends—can they beat it?—and get a link to keep coding at home. Receive challenge reports after each class explaining core learnings and a play link to your student’s game (plus the Scratch code) so family can try it at home. Example Classes this Session: • Reef Runner: Start with a simple collect-and-avoid game, then add shells to score and gentle hazards to dodge—learn how to code controls, events, and if-then checks. • Jelly Jumper: First code a sprite that jumps between platforms, then level up with moving platforms and coins—driven by a gravity loop and a simple coin-counter state. • Cleanup Quest: Catch trash, dodge fish, then increase spawn rates—all while learning conditionals, randomness, and timers. Class Structure: • Introductory game: Class starts with a quick, whole-group game to reinforce the day’s concept. • Kickoff project: Students begin from the same starter project while teachers explain the goal; after each level, they can play a 30-second example for inspiration. • Coding level-ups: Add levels (timer, score, lives, power-ups, enemy behavior) to deepen the day’s lesson and make a game friends actually want to play. • Creative level-ups: Personalize with unlocked sprites, backgrounds, and sounds—while keeping it playable. • Team collaboration: As kids progress, they’re encouraged to swap with classmates to playtest their games and integrate peer feedback.
