This program provides already trained Program Aide's (PA) and Counselor’s-in-Training (CIT) the opportunity to put their skills to the test and help out with an outdoor program. The description of program they will help with is listed below. This is a day event and does not include an overnight. Saturday lunch, dinner cookout, and a snack are provided as part of this event. This program is designed for individuals WITHOUT an adult chaperone who have already completed their PA or CIT training. This is a drop off event. A patch will be provided for registered youth participants. Visit our Council Shop for more Girl Scout swag. Program Description: Travel back in time as you step into the footsteps of the very first Girl Scouts with this outdoor program filled with timeless traditions, outdoor adventures, and sisterhood under the stars! During this 24-hour overnight experience, you’ll try your hand at activities inspired by Juliette Gordon Low and the original Girl Scout troop from 1912. Practice classic skills like cooking over a fire, tying essential knots, reading a compass, and making your own map. Head out on a hike, put together a simple first aid kit to take home, and make a craft inspired by Girl Scouts of the past. As night falls, gather around the campfire for songs and s’mores, then head out under the night sky to identify constellations—just like Girl Scouts have done for generations. Whether you’re learning something new or celebrating traditions that have stood the test of time, this program is all about honoring our roots and making lasting memories (just in time for Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday on October 31). Let’s celebrate the past, enjoy the present, and carry the Girl Scout legacy forward—together!
