About This Activity

Our Spring Break camp will explore a different facet of Japanese cuisine each day. Monday: Home cooking, focusing on simple preparations of fresh vegetables, proteins, and grains in an elegant arrangement. Tuesday: Sushi! Learn techniques for cutting fish, how to make sushi rice, and practice your knife skills. Wednesday: Ramen... We will delve into the intricacies of how to make a rich dashi (stock) for ramen, and make our own ramen noodles. Thursday: We will make a simple kaiseki menu, a multi course meal with a poetic focus. Friday: Like all of our week-long courses, families are invited to join our class on the final day for a presentation and celebratory feast. Menu TBD. This camp includes daily snacks and full meals.
