10 Delicious Allergy-Free Treats For Kids

According to the CDC, roughly one in 13 American children are affected by food allergies and it can be frustrating for parents and children to find snacks and treats that are safe to eat. You want to find foods that won't cause an adverse reaction, but are also nutritious, filling and taste delicious.

Over the years, the advancement of allergen labeling has helped many navigate the grocery store aisles. Products with clear labeling of the most common allergies (gluten, dairy and nut, for example) can easily be found in most stores.

Of course, you still need to read the labels to make sure there's nothing your child may be allergic to, even if you have bought a "safe" product for years. There's always a chance the production may have changed, so be wary.

Making your treats at home is a great way to know exactly what's in the recipe and you can always modify recipes to meet your child's needs. Just pick a recipe that works for your kid's allergies and enjoy!
