In the “iPad Art & 3D printing” ASAP course, we will experiment with a variety of tablet art techniques using the apps, Sketchbook Pro and 123D Design. In Sketchbook Pro, students will practice tracing, filling, stamping and editing images. On their iPads, they will create layers, change opacity, play with brush varieties, color and blend to create their own unique and expressive artwork. We will also use 123D design to build digital models that can be printed with our Makerbot 3D printer. On this design app, students manipulate geometric shapes to create CAD (Computer Aided Design) renderings. As the students discover new techniques, they will be encouraged to take a leadership role and teach the group! Students will create a personal GA DropBox account in which all artwork will be stored and may be accessed from any device. Select images from each student will be printed and sent home.
