About This Activity
This is an 8-week session meeting June 21-August 16 (no session on July 5). We invite parents and caregivers with children ages 18 months to 3 years to join us in an engaging and relaxed introduction to outdoor learning, immersed in nature at Through the Trees. Each session will begin with a morning meeting, singing songs, reading books and then following the children’s lead. Activities will be offered but the little ones will ultimately decide what spurs their curiosity. We encourage parents/caregivers and children to explore our outdoor play space together or independently. So much is new for these little ones, but you will be amazed at how naturally independent play, exploration and connecting with nature come to them - and how with patience and practice you can support self-directed play. These magical mornings are a great place to make connections for your child as well as connecting with a community of like-minded parents and caregivers. Once the little ones find their freedom we encourage parents to take a step back, take a breath, and perhaps make some friendships of your own. The program will be outdoors, rain, snow or shine unless weather is extreme and potentially dangerous (such as high winds, low wind chill, high heat index or unsafe driving conditions), which may result in cancellation.
