About This Activity
Let’s not sugar coat this: Engineering Topics is a camp for hardcore nerds who like to do math and science calculations for fun. The purpose of this camp is to show students how math and science are interrelated and how math skills are applied to real world engineering applications. Students will engage in a series of unusual and fun activities, all hands on, that are chosen to illustrate specific physics and engineering principles. Then, following the activities, the group will study the mathematics that govern the activities by performing calculations involving simple arithmetic and algebra. So, grab your calculator, pads of paper and sharpen your pencils as we explore the mystical world of math-based science. CAUTION!: Participants of this camp will actually do math calculations during the summer.
